We’re thrilled to have you as part of our community. We’re providing the place for real people to talk, debate, and connect across political lines.
Povi is designed as a dedicated platform for entertaining, engaging, insightful, and respectful political discussions. It’s a space where individuals from diverse political viewpoints can come together to exchange ideas, explore different perspectives, and foster meaningful conversations. Our core mission is to elevate political discourse by emphasizing transparency, genuine engagement, and constructive dialogue that helps everyone learn and grow.
These Community Guidelines (referred to as "Guidelines") complement our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. The Terms of Use outline the legal framework, including specific prohibitions, enforcement mechanisms, and intellectual property rules. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle and safeguard your data. These Guidelines are incorporated into our Terms of Use and are binding on everyone who uses Povi. If you are a Creator who has signed a Creator Agreement, these Guidelines apply to you as described in that agreement, and in the event of any conflict, your Creator Agreement and the Terms of Use control.
We may revise these Guidelines from time to time. Material changes are announced in advance and take effect as described in the "Changes to these Terms" section of our Terms of Use, which also governs updates to these Guidelines. Continued use of Povi after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Guidelines.
Whether you’re watching, chatting, or hosting a stream, these values guide everything we do:
These are goals we all share.
Povi is committed to maintaining a neutral stance on political matters. We do not endorse, promote, or favor any specific views, parties, candidates, or ideologies. Our moderation processes aim to apply these Guidelines consistently and without favoritism toward any political viewpoint. If you believe a moderation action reflects political bias, you can raise that concern through the appeal process described in these Guidelines (see "Notice System and Appeals" below), where an appeal is available for the action at issue. We review appeals reasonably and in good faith.
The foundation of Povi resides in its active user community. From specialized groups established by streamers and their audiences to the broader Povi ecosystem, the platform flourishes through shared engagement in political issues. In addition to the rules outlined in our Terms of Use, the guidelines below define acceptable and prohibited conduct across the entire platform, including livestreams, videos, discussions, chats, comments, private messages, and user profiles. Violations may result in measures such as content removal, deactivation of monetization features (if available), warnings, account suspensions, or account terminations. Should an enforcement action appear to have been applied in error, review may be available through the appeal process described in these Guidelines. Content Notices issued to Creator channels are reviewed on appeal by our politically balanced review panel.
We view these Guidelines as dynamic, and we collaborate with our creators, and our community to refine them.
All users, viewers, moderators, and creators, should assist us by reporting non-compliant content or behavior. We review reports as promptly as reasonably possible.
Everyone who watches, chats, comments, or interacts is part of our community. To keep discourse productive, we must require that you, as a Povi community member, refrain from:
All activity must comply with our Terms of Use, which contain the full list of prohibited conduct. Beyond these basic rules, we encourage positive participation. Share your well-researched opinions, question assumptions politely, and contribute to discussions that deepen understanding. If you’re new, observe ongoing discussions to gauge the tone and context before jumping in.
We’d love it if you’d spread the word about Povi to others who are looking for civil political discourse to help us build an active and engaged political community. Promoting the platform through social shares or invitations to like-minded individuals, strengthens our mission.
Authenticity is key to meaningful political exchange. Deceptive practices that undermine trust or manipulate experiences are not tolerated. This includes actions that disrupt platform operations or harm user devices.
For instance, you must refrain from:
We recognize that external attacks, like unauthorized account access or bot-driven inflation, can occur. In such cases, we will investigate and take appropriate action to protect innocent users.
We want Povi to be your home for political streaming, and we know your presence and the wider political conversation extend beyond it. Here’s where the lines are:
Always fine:
Not allowed without our prior written consent:
The difference is pattern and purpose: reacting to a YouTube video is commentary; ending your streams with "follow me on YouTube, that’s where I really post" is audience steering. The platform examples above are illustrative, and we may update them in these Guidelines from time to time.
To foster a constructive environment for political discussions, we prohibit behaviors including:
Our Terms of Use restrict leadership of, knowing membership in, and material support or recruitment for certain organizations — those that (i) engage in, advocate, plan, or provide material support for violence or other serious criminal activity, or (ii) have as a core tenet or stated objective the inherent inferiority or subordination of, or the denial of equal legal or civil rights to, any class of persons. When we apply this rule:
Povi is a platform for argument, not an arbiter of truth. Opinions, predictions, interpretations, satire, hyperbole, and one-sided advocacy, however wrong anyone believes them to be, do not violate this rule. We enforce it only where all three of the following are met:
Two kinds of falsehood may be enforced on a first instance, without the persistence requirement:
What about unsubstantiated claims? A claim that lacks evidence is not the same as a claim proven false, and we do not moderate claims solely for being unsourced or unproven. Doing so would put us in the business of grading the evidence behind every contested political argument, which is precisely what a neutral platform must not do. The remedy for a weak claim on Povi is scrutiny: challenge it in chat, rebut it on stream, make the better argument. Claims that cross into demonstrable falsity, false statements about real people, fabricated evidence, election- logistics falsehoods, or market manipulation are handled under this section and the other rules in these Guidelines.
How this is enforced: On Creator channels, enforcement runs through the Notice System: a warning or Content Notice will identify the specific statements at issue and the basis for the determination, and Content Notices are appealable to the review panel like any other Notice. For everyone else, we may remove individual messages, comments, or posts that meet the standards above, and accounts that continue posting the same or substantially similar claims after removals may be suspended or terminated (see "Notice System and Appeals" for account-action appeals).
Content that presents demonstrably false factual claims as fact may also be made ineligible for monetization or reduced in recommendations, even where the persistence and real-world-harm elements are not met (see "Monetization Standards"). Eligibility decisions under this sentence are not Content Notices or Strikes.
Povi supports informed civic engagement but prohibits conduct that interferes with democratic processes. Do not:
Opinions, predictions, advocacy, and commentary about elections, candidates, parties, and the fairness of political processes, however heated, do not violate this rule. Enforcement under this rule is limited to demonstrably false statements of procedural fact and unlawful calls to action. It follows the procedures in "False Information" above, except that no persistence requirement applies: voting-logistics falsehoods may be enforced on a first instance.
Povi may apply heightened moderation during major elections or civic events, with notice to users where practicable, to maintain platform integrity. We of course encourage civic content, as long as it complies with these Guidelines.
Political fundraising through Povi features is prohibited; see "Monetization Standards" below for the details.
Civility ensures wide-ranging views can coexist and be productively discussed, encouraging open dialogue and respect for opposing views. Povi is committed to fostering an environment where diverse political perspectives, debates, and ideas can thrive without descending into toxicity. We encourage open dialogue on tough topics, but we cannot permit conduct that crosses into hate, discrimination, targeted harassment, or incitement to harm. Allowing such behavior unchecked would undermine community safety and erode the trust that makes open dialogue across political lines possible. Content and conduct on Povi must comply with applicable law, and we may restrict the availability of particular content or features where the law requires.
To maintain this environment of mutual respect, we prohibit behaviors that undermine civility. This includes the following:
Creators are the heart of Povi; you bring the conversations to life and set the tone for your audiences. You have extra tools (and responsibility) to help shape the community. In addition to the shared principles and user guidelines above, we ask you to:
Monetization on Povi (Subscriptions, HeroChats, HeroTakes, and any other paid features) is tied to good standing. The mechanics of payouts, revenue shares, and holds are governed by your Creator Agreement; the eligibility rules below govern what can be monetized.
To use and keep monetization features, you must:
Content that doesn’t violate these Guidelines may still be ineligible for monetization or reduced in recommendations, for example, content designed purely to shock or outrage without meaningful contribution to political discussion, or content consisting primarily of unlabeled synthetic media. Demonetization is an eligibility decision, not a penalty: it is not a Content Notice or Strike unless the content independently violates these Guidelines.
Political fundraising. Povi’s paid features are not a vehicle for political contributions. You may not use HeroChats, HeroTakes, Subscriptions, or any other Povi feature, or, on or through the Platform or in connection with your Povi channel or content, your own personal payment accounts (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, crypto wallets, or similar), to solicit, collect, or relay contributions to any candidate, campaign, committee, party, or ballot-measure effort. Purchases on Povi support a creator’s content; they are not political donations and may never be framed as such. You may direct viewers to the official, publicly registered fundraising page of a candidate or committee (for example, an official campaign donation page), provided you clearly identify where the link goes, comply with all disclaimer and disclosure requirements under applicable law, and never route or accept such funds through Povi or your own accounts.
We take this very seriously. Violations of this section may result in demonetization, withholding or reversal of amounts derived from the violating activity, Content Notices, or account action, as provided in the Terms of Use and your Creator Agreement.
Political content moves markets, and that’s fine. Good-faith political advocacy, commentary, analysis, and opinion are never violations of this section, even when they influence market prices. This section regulates conduct (positions, trades, coordination, and disclosure), not viewpoints.
Disclosure (Creators). If a market is a primary subject of your content, you must disclose any material position you hold in it.
Disclosing a position never makes the content itself a violation. This rule is about transparency not about whether you may hold positions or share your views on them.
Prohibited conduct (everyone). Regardless of disclosure, no user or Creator may:
Examples. Arguing for months that a candidate will win while holding a disclosed position that they will win: fine. Streaming your prediction-market portfolio and explaining your reasoning: fine, that’s disclosure in action. Publishing a fabricated "leaked poll" to spike a market you hold: prohibited. Teasing that tomorrow’s stream will "end a campaign" while loading up on the relevant market tonight: prohibited. Promoting a politically themed memecoin or token while holding an undisclosed position in it: violates the disclosure rule, and hyping it with claims you know are false is prohibited manipulation.
Enforcement. We do not actively monitor anyone’s trading activity. Enforcement under this section is based on reports and information reasonably available to us, and runs through the Notice System with the same appeal rights as any other Notice. Deception-based market manipulation is also a Serious Conduct Violation under Creator Agreements and may result in immediate action as provided there and in the Terms of Use.
We take a graduated approach to content moderation anchored in transparency and non-partisanship.
Content Notices (Creator channels): Content Notices are issued on individual livestreams, recordings, videos, or clips on a Creator channel that violate these Guidelines. A Notice identifies the content at issue and the rule it violates. You may appeal any Notice within 7 days of issuance to our politically balanced review panel, which will issue a final determination within 14 days of your appeal in the ordinary course (this period may be extended where we reasonably need additional information or evidence, and we’ll let you know if more time is needed).
Strikes: A Notice becomes a Content Strike if it is not appealed within 7 days, or if the panel upholds it on appeal. Strikes remain on your channel for 90 days from issuance. If your channel accrues 3 Strikes, it will be suspended for at least 30 days, and permanent termination is possible for particularly serious or repeated violations. We reserve the right to take immediate action, including suspension or termination, before 3 Strikes are reached where a violation is particularly egregious or poses a serious risk to the community, other users, or the integrity of the platform.
The review panel: Appeals of Content Notices are decided by a review panel that includes at least one left-leaning member, one right-leaning member, and one independent or centrist member (in each case as designated by Povi based on panelists’ self-identification), or as close to that composition as reasonably practicable where a panelist is unavailable or recused. Panelists are selected for their commitment to applying these Guidelines impartially, regardless of their personal politics; panel members may include Povi personnel, and membership may change over time. Decisions are made by majority vote. We will endeavor to explain the evidence considered and the outcome of each appeal, and we publish anonymized quarterly statistics on appeal outcomes (such as uphold and reverse rates), beginning after our first full calendar quarter of operation.
Appeals for everyone else: The Notice System applies to Creator channels. If you are not a Creator, you may appeal an account suspension or termination by emailing Hello@Povi.tv with any evidence or explanation you would like considered; such appeals are reviewed in good faith, and decisions are final. Other enforcement actions, such as removal of an individual comment or chat message, are not separately appealable.
Copyright: Copyright Notices are separate from Content Notices and are governed by our Copyright/DMCA Policy, including its counter-notice process. Copyright strikes accrue on your channel for 60 days after issuance, and 3 final copyright claims (where no counter-notice is submitted, or a counter-notice is unsuccessful) will result in permanent account termination in accordance with that policy. Strike expiration does not limit our right to terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances as required by law.
Please see our Terms of Use and Copyright/DMCA Policy for full details, including our rights to act.
